oh my, I just stumbled onto one of the Esteban World Tour videos...needless to say, I'm stunned....I had the misfortune of playing one of his earlier guitars bought by a well meaning (but somewhat dimwitted) friend of mine that wanted to learn to play the guitar. After telling me of his acquisition, he couldn't wait for me to give him my honest opinion of his newly purchased treasure. After five minutes, I was able to stem the blood flow from my finger tips, and candidly asked him "are you out of your f**king mind! This is a stinky, steaming pile probably cobbled together by some four year old kids chained to workbenches in some dilapidated Chinese factory. What possessed you to spend $100 for this oversized doorstop." He informed me that Esteban assured him (on the infomercial) that it was a quality instrument that Esteban personally designed to give the gift of music. When I was finally able to regain my feet, I forced him to run an ad on craigslist to see if he could pawn it off on some other unsuspecting sap. He finally found a suck....er buyer, and he only took a $40 hit on it. I took him to a pawn shop where I forced him to spend $150 on a used Takamine. Two weeks after selling his Esteban, he received an email message from the buyer wanting to know why the frets in a brand new guitar were falling out. He had no answer. Thanks for the laughs and I'll take your word that the new Esteban is better than the older versions. At least the frets stay in place on this one.
